They tried to predict the sex of the royal baby with a 'psychic' banana on Monday.And on Thursday, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were the subject of ridicule, when they invited asparagus fortune-teller Jemima Packington onto the show.Jemima Packington, 62, from Bath, claims to predict the day ahead by throwing asparagus spears in the air and interpreting the pattern they form when they land.She said to Holly: 'I think this looks like you will be having a very nice meeting. Yes a nice meeting. That’s what you’ll have so that’s good.'And this here means you will maybe have an argument with someone later today.'Turning to a rather skeptical Phillip, she said: 'This is very interesting. You will meet a stranger today and that will be important. Someone you don’t know.'Phil cheekily replied: 'I don’t know you, maybe it’s you.'Jemima replied: 'Yes. Well, no. It’s someone you don’t know and it will be important.'But viewers seemed to think the whole thing was a little ridiculous and took to Twitter to express their feelings on the matter.They wrote things like: 'I bet the Ellen show in the USA is now saying, 'sh** me, it was a banana on Monday, now its f**in asparagus. These Brits are mental #thismorning.''By looking at that asparagus I see that the lady has f***ing lost it.''You throw asparagus and then she tells you what's going to happen today wtf.''Im gunna throw a bunch of asparagus about every morning instead of reading my horoscope #ThisMorning.' [sic]Asparagus was clearly the theme of the day as TV chef Phil Vickery showed viewers how to celebrate the first crop of asparagus with a starter and main course.It's not the first time Jemima has appeared on the show. Calling herself an 'asparamancer', she first appeared on January 2016.While the presenters managed to keep straight faces, viewers on social media were in hysterics over the segment once again, at the time.Explaining how the process works, Jemima told the hosts: 'If I was doing a reading for you, I would ask you to cast the asparagus on to a flat surface and from the patterns it reveals I would make some predictions.''Wow,' Holly replied, but Phillip couldn't help looking bewildered.'Does it work with celery?' he inquired.'No,' Jemima replied. 'There's something about this good earthy vegetable that just picks up the vibrations from everybody.''What do you do when it's not in season? ' he continued.
